I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember—long before I had any idea what I was doing. Stories have always felt like home to me, no matter whether I was reading them or writing them.
Before becoming an author, I worked as a professional horse training and riding instructor, which gave me a unique ability to stay calm in the middle of chaos. These days, I live on a farm with my husband and our foster/adoptive kiddos, where life is equal parts muddy boots, crazy animals, and coffee. I also enjoy creating scroll saw art and showing rabbits (competitively), which is exactly as niche as it sounds.
My day job involves owning and running The Lantern English Co., where I get to do one of my favorite things: help kids fall in love with writing. We teach everything from grammar to academic writing to literature to creative writing. Not everyone is lucky enough to make a career out of what they love, and I never take that for granted.
I love staying up past my bedtime, existing on strong coffee, and reading good books. If you love good stories and the people who make them, then you’re in the right place. Thanks for joining me!
